About The Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research
Established in 2000, the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research (FSR) is the leading international organization dedicated to finding a cure for sarcoidosis and improving care for sarcoidosis patients through research, education, and support. Since its establishment FSR has fostered over $8 million in sarcoidosis-specific research efforts. With the overarching mission of finding a cure and providing education and resources for patients and the public highlights of their activities include:
· Producing game-changing initiatives toward a cure by collaborations and partnerships with the pharmaceutical industry, biotech companies, medical institutes and professionals, academic institutes, researchers, and patients from across the globe.
· Offers annual conferences, webinars and comprehensive educational materials for people across the globe living with sarcoidosis and connects patients to each other for support and enabling a larger impact.
· More than 60,000 members from all 50 states and nearly 80 countries have joined the free Stop Sarcoidosis Online Support Community.
· More than 3,500 clinicians and allied health professionals have joined the FSR clinician and researcher outreach list.
· Thousands are helped through in-person support groups under the umbrella of FSR.

Overall Objective
FSR seeks an engaging, entrepreneurial, and outcome-focused professional as their Director of Global Clinical Engagement. Serving as strategic partner to the Chief of Staff and CEO, this innovative leader develops and implements short- and long-term initiatives that drive FSR’s Global Sarcoidosis Clinic Alliance (Alliance) forward. The Alliance is a member program of clinics, hospitals, and individual providers committed to finding a cure and offering evidence-based, patient-centric care for those living with sarcoidosis.
The role needs a dynamic, collaborative, and highly motivational leader with an interest in advancing sarcoidosis research and the needs of sarcoidosis patients and caregivers by enhancing relationships with physicians, ancillary providers, hospitals, and clinics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to scale impact and deepen FSR’s presence in the organizations they serve while also advancing your career within this rapidly-growing entity.
Position Overview
The Director will build and steward a network of clinicians and providers through marketing, communications, sales/relationship development, stewardship, and implementation of diverse clinical engagements. Specifically:
· Oversee and support the Alliance Clinician Leadership Committees.
· Cultivate and execute innovative programs for clinician education, i.e., Clinical Engagement Program (CME accredited), Journal Club (CME accredited), Peer Case Review, Early Career Mentoring Webinars, and Grand Rounds programming.
· Partners with FSR leadership to create capacity building grants and identify innovative programs for collaboration.
Additionally, the Director leads all non-Alliance related clinician and provider outreach and programming i.e., growing the clinician membership and educational initiatives, overseeing the FSR Provider Directory, the Physician and Researcher emails, and, diversifying and growing our provider contact list.
The new Director will be a visionary leader and self-starter with impactful management skills, capable of inspiring confidence and fostering relationships across every level internally and externally. This new leader will demonstrate ethical integrity, strategic thinking, diplomacy, and business acumen while remaining adaptable, collaborative, and open to innovation. As a knowledgeable spokesperson, they exude genuine enthusiasm for the organization’s mission and possess exceptional communication skills, creativity, and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
· Growth of clinical membership for FSR Global Sarcoidosis Clinic Alliance (Alliance).
· Oversight of Alliance Leadership Committees – identifying opportunities to leverage the power of these 40+ institutions in the improvement of clinical care, research, and awareness.
· Manages Alliance Educational and Mentoring Programs, generating opportunities and securing speakers.
· Develops, implements and sustains Alliance strategic growth plan.
· Creates agile and relevant Alliance member benefit programs.
· Engages corporate partners in sponsorship and grant opportunities with FSR leaders for Alliance program expansion and capacity building opportunities for veteran, Native American, or under-resourced hospitals.
· Recruits and onboards new Alliance global members.
· Develops and implements innovative programming and strategies to expand the Alliance reach beyond academic medical centers to include primary care, community clinics, and allied health professionals around the globe.
· Growth of clinical and provider engagement programs.
· Expands clinicians and providers network with diverse backgrounds and expertise.
· Collaborates with FSR’s Director of Global Patient Programs on combined physician and patient educational initiatives.
· Amplifies public outreach and communication.
· Presents at hospitals and medical conferences highlighting FSR and clinician programming.
· Assists in securing national conference speaking engagements for FSR leaders.
· Engages external businesses, industry, and sarcoidosis experts to learn about and leverage opportunities to grow FSR’s footprint, reach, and optimize ROI of clinical engagement programs.
· Oversees communications and marketing activities for all clinician activities.
· Alliance and clinician/provider financials and data.
· Provides data analytics that convey performance and progress to leadership, Board and physician leadership.
· Oversees financial matters including billing and budgeting.
Qualifications
· 10 years’ minimum non-profit leadership experience in program management, clinician, hospital and/or membership engagement, or business development.
· Proven track record in stewardship, membership growth, marketing, research, and strategy planning implementation and execution.
· 5 years’ minimum supervisory/management experience, adept at inspiring and developing small teams with changing priorities to achieve needed goals.
Education
Master’s degree preferred
Work Expectations
Offices in Washington, DC and Chicago. Option to work remotely.
